RMT Integrates Ikegami MKC-230HD into Remote Robotic Telemicroscopy Demonstration at ACS 2022
System allows pathologists to collaborate with clinicians regardless of their physical location
Mahwah, NJ – Ikegami’s MKC-230HD high-end 3CMOS Full-HD medical grade camera was recently demonstrated as a core imaging element of the innovative rmtConnect™ remote robotic telemicroscopy solution offered by Remote Medical Technologies (RMT). RMT exhibited its solution, which is designed for immediate decision-making, at the American Society of Cytopathology 70th Annual Scientific Meeting (ASC 2022) in Baltimore from November 16th through 18th, 2022.
RMT, a creator and major provider of state-of-the-art real-time telemedicine systems to healthcare organizations worldwide, showcased rmtConnect™ which is equipped with advanced patented features. The compact head of Ikegami’s MKC-230HD camera is mounted onto the system’s microscope to provide a crystal-clear video image.
RMT’s telemicroscopy solution allows pathologists to remotely control a robotic microscope and assess specimens by viewing a highly secure, real-time, live video stream from anywhere via the internet without need for third-party applications. Leveraging this advantage, pathologists are able to collaborate with clinicians regardless of their physical location. The system also enables healthcare organizations to optimize the performance of Rapid On-Site Evaluation (ROSE) by reducing travel time as well as the number of on-site pathologists. The ROSE procedure allows adequate and accurate assessment of sample smears from specimen obtained during an operation using a quick staining.
The clear and precise video image delivered by Ikegami’s MKC-230HD 3CMOS Full-HD camera, combined with rmtConnect’s impeccable performance speed, differentiates RMT’s telemicroscopy system from other remote pathology microscopy systems on the market. Ikegami’s 3CMOS camera head provides superior brightness, sharpness and color reproduction. It has a quicker automatic brightness control response than the 1CMOS cameras used on other microscopes. These advantages allow clinicians to view details clearly and immediately, enhancing assessment accuracy and efficiency as well as playing a key role in supporting healthcare.Ikegami’s advanced medical grade imaging equipment are based on over 70 years of experience. Ikegami continues to provide reliable high-end products and services to medical facilities, enhancing healthcare for patients worldwide.
